
Pat's Ripple Fingertip Towel

Bernet cotton, 4 Ply worsted
Needles: 5mm. / #6 Can. / #8 US.
Cast on 58 stitches loosely
Row 1: **K2, yfwd, K4, (K2tog) twice, K4, yfwd, K1, yfwd, K4, (K2tog) twice, K4,
yfwd, K2, rep from * once more.
Row 2: K2, purl to last 2 stitches, K2
Row 3: Knit **
Repeat from ** to ** until your towel is the length you like (8 to 12in.)
Decrease: to make tab
row 1: k2 tog across
row 2: knit across
row 3: k2 tog across, knit last 3 sts. tog
row 4: knit across
row 5: k2 tog, k to last 2 sts, k2 tog.
row 6 to 24 : K across
row 25: Repeat row 5 of shaping.
row 26: k6, yo, (for buttonhole) k6.
row 27: knit across.
rows 28, 29, 30: rep row 5
Bind off and sew button on. I usually tie it on with the same yarn I used to
knit the towel.
OR
Decrease to make tab about 2in. wide and knit to 4 to 5 inches long.
1.) Chain a rope ¾ in. long to make a loop to serve as buttonhole for a door
knob.
OR
2.) Cast off & use Velcro to form a loop to attach the towel to your
oven door handle.
Weave in ends.
