Window Panes Hat

with matching Mittens

Materials: 1 ball worsted weight (Yarn A) (Model made with Bernat Satin)

                  1 ball fuzzy hairy yarn (Yarn B) (Model uses Eyelash)

                  Size 5 mm circular needle (40 cm long) & 5mm  DPN’s

                  Stitch marker to mark beginning and end of each round

Cast on 112 sts with Yarn A.

Ribbing: k2, p2 around until work measures 2 ½” from cast on.

Next 5 rounds: purl 

Pattern:

Rnd 1: K2 sts of Yarn B, slip 2 sts of Yarn A, repeat around

Rnds 2-4: Repeat for 3 more rounds (4 rounds total)

Rnd 5: Using yarn A knit one row

Rnd 6-7: purl (this completes the pattern)

Repeat the 7 pattern rows 6 or 7 times more or until work measures 7 ½”.

NOTE: End the last pattern repeat stopping after Row 5.

Decrease as follows: Replacing  circular needles with DPN'S when you feel the need.

1st Decrease: P1, p2tog around to the last 4 sts, p4 (76 sts). Purl a round. 

Work first 5 rows of pattern repeat 

2nd Decrease: P1, p2tog around to the last 4 sts, p4 (52 sts). Purl a round.

Work first 5 rows of pattern repeat 

3rd Decrease: P1, p2tog around to the last 4 sts, p4 (36 sts). Purl a round.

Work first 5 rows of pattern repeat

4th Decrease: P1, p2tog around (24 sts). Purl a round.

Next: p2tog around (12 sts). Cut yarn and draw through loops, secure and darn in all ends.
